Q. What is a Ball Jointed Doll (BJD)?
A. "A ball-jointed doll is any doll that is articulated with ball and socket joints. In contemporary usage when referring to modern dolls, and particularly when using the acronyms BJD or ABJD, it usually refers to modern Asian ball-jointed dolls. These are cast in polyurethane resin, a hard, dense plastic, and the parts strung together with a thick elastic." — Wikipedia
Q. Why are your dolls so expensive?
A. It takes time and an enormous amount of money for a single artist to create each doll for a customer, from the materials and tools needed to create the first sculpts, and the subsequent molds, casts, plus any requests for customization. Each doll is a custom made work of art.
Q. Why don't you make orders year round?
A. Due to the technique used and time required to make a custom BJD, supplies are limited. Furthermore, Cassie is completing her senior year at the Maryland Institute College of art and her current studies take priority.
